Our Story

In 1980 Nicholaas van Hoogdalem had a dream of opening a hardware store that is concreted in its community offering customer service, building advice and long standing supplier/client relationships. After much thought and consideration him and his wife opened their 1st shop which later moved into the Kilburn shopping center. Our owners and staff always do their best to advise and help our clients to the best of their knowledge and by doing that we have a lot of regular clients whom we love working with.

At Kilburn Hardware & Building Supplies our mission is to always be transparent and a helping hand to our community.

Good service from helpful staff. Such a pleasure in these days of appalling customer service.

Top notch service. I placed a telephone order and asked to collect and pay outside. Rian was extremely helpful, knew all the prices, supplied exactly what I needed and was very considerate about my Covid concerns. I will never go anywhere else again.

Top notch. I came upon the shop by accident, remembered I needed something and decided to stop. Awesome. Great service. Friendly people. Barely in the door and someone asked if I needed help even though the shop was busy. I was helped inside of a minute with exactly what I need. Shop is well stocked and busy. Obviously because their service is really excellent.
